A foolhardy trip out on the water by two boaties has prompted a call from police to take appropriate precautions or face prosecution. Police said the two men were rescued after getting caught out on Lake Wakatipu on an inflatable boat with only one life jacket. "The weather was not favourable and police spent considerable time locating the pair and bringing them back to land. "Police, Maritime NZ and local authorities all have the ability to take enforcement action against those acting irresponsibly on the water.
