KANGAR: The police force will commence the first phase of intensive drills, nationwide, in gearing up for the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14) beginning Thursday. Federal police's Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah said the three-day exercise will focus on preparing the police rank and file in dealing with any situation efficiently. He said the drills, which will be carried out at all district headquarters nationwide, are meant to equip the police team with adequate skills to preserve public order before and after the general elections. Zulkifli said so far the drills will be conducted as scheduled even in flood-hit areas as the situation has improved. Should the flood situation worsen; he said the exercise at the affected districts would be postponed, depending on the situation.
