SICU investigates both allegations of illegal brothels and licensed brothels that could be involved in illegal activity. The unit made 51 visits to legal brothels and more than 150 visits to suspected illegal brothels in 2019. A Sydney brothel was fined $5000 for continuing to operate and three staff were each fined $1000 on March 29.
