Police said a firearm was shot into the foyer ceiling of Dr Rudi’s Rooftop Bar. The owner of a bar on Auckland's viaduct where a firearm was shot is grateful no one was injured. Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Franich said a group of people had been removed from Dr Rudi's Rooftop bar in the CBD about 2.45am on Sunday. After a brief altercation, a firearm was discharged into the foyer ceiling above the escalators, Franich said. “This was an extremely serious incident with a large number of bystanders, and it is incredibly fortunate that no one was injured,” Franich said.
