One man is in critical condition following a knife attack just after 2 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 17th and U streets in Northwest Washington. D.C. police are looking for a man who police say stabbed the victim and another man after they came to the aid of a woman who was allegedly being verbally assaulted by the assailant. According to police, the victims crossed the street to investigate why the man was arguing with the woman when the man then began arguing with the two men. The assailant, police say, then pulled out a knife and stabbed the two male victims before fleeing south on 17th Street. Correction: An earlier version of this story described the victims as a man and a woman and said the assailant crossed the street to them.
