As part of Neighbourhood Policing Week, Westbury Police has shared some of the things its officers have responded to in the last three days. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "As well as community events, school visits and general patrols, Westbury Neighbourhoods get tasked to all manner of jobs by the Police Control Room"They then listed some of the things they had been called out to, which included locating a stolen vehicle on a trading estate. A couple of concerns about the health of elderly people were followed up on, one involved an elderly male with suspected dementia who was wandering in town and the other visiting the home address of an elderly male for a safe and well check after he had fallen in the street and been helped home by a kind member of the public. And two distressed people were helped, a female in a mental health crisis at a train station and a distressed child running off from a primary school. National Neighbourhood Policing Week took place from January 22 to January 28 and aims to demonstrate how police work daily with community groups and to encourage the public to find out more about their local Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
