KUALA LUMPUR: Puteri Umno members today lodged police reports against one of their former committee members, who had claimed that 'khalwat' (close proximity) was a rampant occurrence during the annual Umno General Assembly. Puteri Umno information chief Haryaty Hamzah said the accusations by a former Klang Umno Puteri committee member were serious and she urged the police to take action to investigate the truth behind the claims. Haryaty said if it was true that the former Puteri committee member knew that immoral activities had taken place since she joined 17 years ago, she should have highlighted the issue then. Asked if they would consider legal action against the former committee member, Haryaty said the next course of action would be based on the findings of police investigations. Another police report was also lodged by Klang Puteri Umno chief Norhaslindawati Bujang.
