Citizen report on social media on Wednesday say that a journalist who works for a private newspaper, Ethiopis, was severely attacked by Addis Ababa police and was later arrested. The journalist who is identified as Misgan Getachew was deployed to Arat Kilo area to cover stories related to demolition of houses. He was particularly tasked to get the reactions of residents whose houses were demolished in the above mentioned area. However, he was intercepted by Addis Ababa police who dispossessed him of his photo camera, attacked him and took him to nearby police station – social media sources reported citing eyewitness accounts.
