The apartment of a teenage computer expert was raided by police looking for the hacker who leaked the personal data of almost a thousand German politicians, celebrities and journalists. Jan Schürlein, 19, a software developer from Heilbronn in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, was questioned after claiming to be in contact with the culprit. From the start of last month the Twitter account, which described itself as a Hamburg-based security researcher and used the aliases “G0d”, “Nullr0uter” or “0rbit”, published more than 11GB of photographs, private messages and contact details, including the fax number for the office of Angela Merkel.
