Winnipeg police pursuits jumped nearly 75 per cent from 2014 to 2015. The Winnipeg Police Service engaged in 73 pursuits in 2015, up from 42 the previous year, states a report that goes before the Winnipeg Police Board on Friday. "Criminal flight pursuits are an unpredictable byproduct of criminal activity. "The increase in total pursuits for 2015 is not necessarily indicative of a broader trend, as criminal flight pursuits represent a fraction of all police encounters with the public. Stolen vehicles were used in 43 pursuits in 2015, which accounts for 59 per cent of all pursuits for the year."
