Police have interrogated an assistant chief who reportedly tortured an epileptic boy in Kolait sublocation, Teso North constituency. "He was later locked in a pit latrine for five days while the assistant chief tried administering first aid," she added. A young boy fetching water near the assistant chief's camp saw what was happening and rushed to inform the victim's mother. "I don't think the chief knows [Okishang'ane] is epileptic, but he called us after five days while trying to seek medication," Omusolo said, adding that the brother was diagnosed in 2015. Area DCIO Charles Mwainzinga told The Star that the suspect was summoned at Malaba police station for interrogations on Saturday then released him.
