Srivara, in his capacity as a national police deputy chief in charge of national security, presided over the Bangkok Regional Cooperation Team (BRCT) meeting on Tuesday at the Royal Thai Police head office in Bangkok along with Australian Federal Police (AFP) commander for Asia Glen McEwen, and other senior officials. Following the meeting, which lasted almost two hours, Srivara told reporters that they had discussed transnational terrorism. He said the Australian authorities had reported that the number of IS-linked websites worldwide had increased from 100,000 sites last years to be 200,000 sites this yearFifty of those sites reportedly contained information related to the deep South, so the Thai authorities would investigate them, Srivara added.
