Article Continued BelowAs noted by the PAO, the proposed bill does not adopt all of the recommendations made in the oversight review report. The framers of the bill have accepted some of the recommendations made in the oversight review report, and rejected others. The recommendations made in the oversight review report reflect public expectations. Many of the recommendations made in the current oversight review report simply restate recommendations that had been made in prior reports. When drafting the new legislation, there does not need to be, in my view, a “balance between deference to [the oversight review report] and critical thinking.” The review was the result of critical thinking.
