The NPSC said it is concerned about officers who hide their force numbers and armed traffic police officers on the roads. All police officers should display their force numbers while on duty as required by law, the National Police Service Commission has said. Commissioner Mohammed Murshid said those who hide their force numbers want to conceal their identities for fear of accountability for the actions they indulge in. This followed last week’s arrest of three traffic officers on the Kisii-Kilgoris road by anti-corruption sleuths on allegations of bribery. This emerged during the ongoing Nyanza traffic police officers’ vetting at Tom Mboya Labour College on Monday.
