By COLLINS OMULOMore by this AuthorAn Administration Police officer stabbed by a suspected terrorist outside the American embassy in Nairobi was among 25 recipients of bravery awards at a ceremony held on Tuesday. Momanyi died on July 14, 2016 while trying to subdue a constable affiliated to the Shabaab terrorist group who had deliberately shot dead six police officers at Kapenguria Police Station. The officers dominated the Manu Chandaria Bravery Awards presided over by Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet in Nairobi. Also awarded for his bravery was Inspector of Police John Odhiambo, who had led his colleagues against al-Shabaab terrorists in Boni Forest in Lamu, killing three of them. PC Samuel Njeru, PC Joseph Maina and PC Abdi Hapii were also awarded for reacting bravely to al-Shabaab attacks in Wajir.
