Braley’s body was found in the Merrimack River four months later on March 18, 1990. Investigators believe Braley was “violently assaulted” before his body was thrown in the river. “During the initial stages of the investigation, several conflicting and contradictory stories concerning David’s disappearance circulated in the community,” according to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office.
