The Assin Central MP was in the news after he clashed with the Central Regional Police Commander during a demonstration by students of the University of Education, Winneba. Mr. Agyapong is reported to have threatened the officer that he would make sure the officer is dismissed from the police service. However, a statement from the Police Administration condemned the lawmaker’s actions towards the police commander. The statement said Mr. Agyapong has no authority whatsoever to dismiss any police officer discharging his lawful duties.
