BHUBANESWAR: The commissionerate police here on Wednesday issued look out circular (LOC) against SUM hospital 's owner Manoj Nayak and his wife Saswati Das, who absconded since a major fire at their healthcare unit killed 21 patients on Monday. The LOC has been issued to all airports and ports via ministry of home affairs to prevent their possible escape from the country. The regional passport office here has also been informed to remain alert," commissioner of police Y B Khurania said.When asked as to why the police are looking for Nayak's wife, Khurania said the couple are trustees of Siksha O Anusandhan charitable trust that manages the SUM Hospital. It indicates they are evading police investigation and arrest," Khurania said.The police action followed massive public outrage over the tragic deaths and growing demands from different quarters for his arrest. On Tuesday, the Khandagiri police arrested the hospital's superintendent and three other staffers in connection with the fire tragedy.
