Police said they were called to the fire at the gun club on Okahu Downs Drive in Kaitaia at 4.15am on Tuesday. A suspicious fire has broken out at a gun club in Northland. The fire is believed to have been at the Kaitaia Gun Club. Fire and Emergency NZ shift manager Paul Radden said two crews were sent to the gun club at 4am. It was reported in February 2018 that another fire happened at the gun club, destroying its clubrooms.
