Police are investigating allegations about a staff member at Marlborough Boys' College in Blenheim, Education Minister Chris Hipkins has confirmed. The Marlborough Boys' College board of trustees confirmed on Friday the staff member, understood to be a female teacher, was on leave while an investigation was carried out. Stuff understands the allegations are about inappropriate relations between the teacher and several students. "We can confirm the staff member concerned is on leave while the matter is worked through." In a statement, Ministry of Education enablement and support deputy secretary Katrina Casey said the ministry was aware of the allegation and could offer support and guidance to Marlborough Boys' College if needed.
