An offender who attempted to enter a flat in North Dunedin early this morning by forcing open a front window had second thoughts when the pane smashed. After the window shattered the offender gave up and left the Titan St property. At about 6.10am the victim went to investigate the noise but did not see anything. Meanwhile yesterday at about 11.47pm a Patmos Ave property in Woodhaugh was broken into. A police spokesman says this serves as a valuable reminder to keep doors and windows locked.
