Police are investigating whether deliberately lit fires at two Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints buildings are related. Two Mormon church buildings in the South Island – one in Christchurch and one in Greymouth – were struck by suspicious fires within 48 hours. On Monday, firefighters battled a fire in a Christchurch building used by the church as a learning institution for tertiary students.
