HALIFAX — Police in Halifax are investigating an incident involving a man who confronted a woman in her car and accused her of driving slowly because of her “Asian” heritage. John MacLeod says the force is looking into the encounter in which a woman reported that a man stopped his vehicle, approached her car and engaged in a verbal confrontation Tuesday. Eric McIntyre was a passenger in the car with his partner and captured the exchange on video, later posting the 22-second clip to his Facebook page. On it, the man can be heard explaining why he had passed them earlier on the highway, saying “Maybe it’s an Asian thing,” about the woman’s slow rate of speed. The post had been viewed about 42,000 times and generated more than 280 shares by late Wednesday.
