According to a report by adomonline.com on January 12, 2026, the Yeji District Police Commander, DSP Ahenkrah, stated that intelligence had indicated the vehicle was carrying illegal drugs. “The driver initially denied knowledge of the cargo, but a search disclosed sacks of dried leaves believed to be cannabis. The parcels were later counted and confirmed to total 396,” the report said. He reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to clamping down on drug trafficking and ensuring that offenders face the law.
