Police identify woman whose body was found in a bag in Leslieville

Just 24 hours after issuing a plea for the public’s help in identifying a deceased woman found in a plastic bag in Leslieville this week, Toronto police have put a name to the city’s latest homicide victim. Tien Ly, 46, has been identified as the deceased woman found by officers on Monday afternoon, her remains discarded inside a bag left near Eastern Ave. and Berkshire Ave. Police said there were “obvious” signs of trauma to her body, including dismemberment. At a Wednesday evening news conference at their headquarters, Toronto police said homicide investigators are now seeking the woman’s son — 20-year-old Dallas Ly. In an effort to identify her, police on Tuesday released images of the woman’s distinctive fingernails and toe nails, painted in a teal and white pattern.
