Police gun down gang transporting illegal ammunitionTwo suspects were gunned down by police officers at Kitalakapel, West Pokot County after being ambushed transporting illegal ammunition from Uganda. During the incident, police recovered 1,850 rounds of ammunition which they suspect was being transported to banditry prone areas in the region. "On checking the sack carried on the motorcycle KMDE 850 Z officers recovered 1,850 rounds of ammunition," he said. Kuto added that the incident confirmed the source of illegal firearms used to fuel banditry along the Turkana-West Pokot border. He urged the residents to report to the police whenever they notice ammunition being transported.
