A Dhaka court has granted police two days to interrogate five suspects in connection to an assault on Ashraful Alom, better known as Hero Alom, while the independent candidate was leaving a polling centre in Banani during the Dhaka-17 parliamentary by-election. Those to be quizzed by police are Md Saiful Islam Sajal, Prince, Shaheb Ali, Shoaib Molla and Bayezid Molla, who were all produced at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
