Jamalpur’s Sarishabari municipality mayor Mohammad Rokonuzzaman Rukon, who went missing two days ago, has been found in Kalighat area of Maulvibazar district. Police found Rokon and took him to Srimangal police station around 1pm on Wednesday. Srimangal police station Inspector (Investigation) Shohel Rana said: “People came on a microbus and dropped the mayor off at a tea garden around 3:30am. We are interrogating him.”Rukon’s wife Qamrunnahar said: “Police called us up and informed us about the matter. He might be taken to Dhaka.”Rukon went missing from Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday.
