Footage from Jerusalem shows Israeli police using water cannon to disperse protesters who had gathered to call for an election to replace the Israeli prime minister. Protesters tried to march towards Benjamin Netanyahu's home after gathering outside the Knesset. The demonstrations came after the prime minister dissolved the three-person war cabinet that was tasked with handling the war against Hamas. Benny Gantz, a popular opposition lawmaker and former military chief, quit Netanyahu's governing coalition in frustration how the war was being handled.
