Police destroy 1,700 gambling machines seized in 2015 - Nation


SEPANG: Police have destroyed 1,700 gaming machines that were seized in anti-gambling raids conducted between January and December 2015 following clearance from the courts. Sepang Deputy OCPD Supt Baharudin Mat Taib said that the seizures were from the 1,200 raids done in the period that also saw 331 people arrested for running illegal gambling premises. "141 cases have been charged in court while the value of the seizures are estimated to be about RM215,000," he said during a press conference at the Sepang police headquarters yesterday. He said police will continue to combat illegal gambling in the district and have identified several hotspots. "We will monitor the district for all vice activities and enforce the law," he said.
