Police are guarding entrances to Wellington's Central Park in the suburb of Brooklyn. Armed police have blocked the streets around a Wellington park after a woman was seriously injured in an assault. The entrance to the park off Ohiro Rd is also blocked, and an officer can be seen checking bushes and rubbish bins around the perimeter of the park.
