The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of two occupants of a commercial vehicle travelling along the Emohua- Kalabari area of East-West road. Although details of the incident was sketchy as of the time of filing this report, the police said it occurred at the same spot where a similar kidnap took place a fortnight ago. The state acting Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident, said information available from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area revealed that only two persons were abducted, while the driver escaped. Iringe-Koko said efforts were on to ensure that the victims were rescued unhurt and to forestall future occurrence. We are investigating and efforts are on to ensure they are rescued unhurt,” the police image maker stated.
