An evacuation of two halls at the University of Toronto is now over after a police investigation into a suspicious item found in one of the university’s residences. Jenniferjit Sidhu said police were called to 21 Classic Ave. at around 2:50 p.m. after “something suspicious” was found in the area. Wilson Hall and Wetmore Hall were subsequently evacuated, the University of Toronto said in a statement posted on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. The halls re-opened to students at about 5:30 p.m., and road closures on Harbord St. at Spadina Ave. concluded. The police’s CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear/Explosive) team, which investigates suspicious packages, were called in to investigate.
