Two suspects charged with killing a 16-year-old earlier this month in the Brightwood neighborhood are affiliated with a violent street gang known as STC, or Street Thug Criminals, with roots in El Salvador, according to court documents. On Wednesday, police arrested Kevin Sorto, 20, of Northwest, and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting of Barrios. Police have charged Alfaro with second-degree murder. Figueroa said her family knows the suspects in her cousin’s killing and that the dispute among them involved money. She said Yoselis “was not involved in any of it.”Attorneys for Sorto and Alfaro did not return calls seeking comment.
