The slain Colorado police officer credited with preventing more people from being killed in the Boulder grocery store massacre is being honored at a memorial service today before being laid to rest. More than 500 law enforcement vehicles took part in a procession that escorted the hearse carrying Officer Eric Talley's body to the service at Flatirons Community Church in the city of Lafayette. A line of officers waited for Talley's casket to arrive before his family followed it inside the church escorted by police. Talleywas among the 10 people shot dead when gunman Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, opened fire at the King Soopers store in Boulder on March 22. During Talley's funeral service, Denver's archbishop Samuel Aquila said the officer had sacrificed his life and showed what is best about police.
