KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police cannot regards the Philippines’ confirmation of the death of two Malaysian militants as an official statement as no bodies were recovered. Federal police Counter-Terrorism Division (E8) principal assistant director Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the deaths of Dr Mahmud Ahmad and Amin Baco cannot be confirmed yet by Malaysian authorities. “From our side, unless we have the body, it (their deaths) is not confirmed. Ayob said Amin, who hails from Tawau, Sabah had been involved in terror activities since 2001. Amin is known for his expertise in bomb-making, which he learned from Zulkifli Hir, better known as ‘Marwan’.
