An increase in the use of body-worn cameras by police led to a nine-tenths drop in complaints against officers within a year, according to research at the University of Cambridge. The cameras, which officers switch on to record live incidents, are being introduced across the UK after a series of pilot schemes. Last year the Metropolitan police became the first force to announce that every frontline officer would be issued with a camera.
