A driver who allegedly fled from police before crashing overnight in Christchurch will appear in court on Wednesday. The pursuit happened in the Fendalton area about 9.50am on Tuesday after the driver failed to stop. Police pursued a red sedan for less than a minute before abandoning the chase due to the manner of driving, a police spokeswoman said. The vehicle was found crashed a short time later and a 28-year-old man was arrested. He will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday facing charges including reckless driving, failing to stop and driving without the appropriate form of licence, the spokeswoman said.
