The suspect, identified as Seth Welbeck, was apprehended on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, on charges of threat of death and possession of firearms and ammunition without lawful authority. Police said that after court proceedings, while being escorted to the court cells, the suspect requested permission from the investigator to lock his vehicle. With the assistance of court officials and witnesses, the investigator swiftly overpowered and disarmed the suspect before any harm could occur. The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against acts of violence, threats, or unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, warning that such actions endanger lives and property.
