Police have arrested at least 233 leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat nationwide since Wednesday evening. In Kurigram, members of law enforcement agencies arrested 19 BNP-Jamaat men on Thursday morning. Police have detained 48 BNP-Jamaat men from several upazilas of Mymensingh district on anarchy charges. A total of 21 BNP-Jamaat men including BNP District Organizational Secretary Jahurul Islam arrested in Thakurgaon on Thursday. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed over 3,500 BNP activists have been detained over the past week.
