Meanwhile, reports indicate that the palace is demanding outright dismissal of the officers involved. It will be recalled that, on January 16, 2020, an articulated driver was assaulted and injured by some police officers at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi. The police patrol team in the area were alerted to arrest him. After sensing danger from the patrol team, the driver went to seek refuge at the Gbewaa palace where the officers invaded and in anger forced him out of the palace and allegedly assaulted him.
