MELAKA: The case of a Primary Two pupil from a vernacular school in Alor Gajah near here will be investigated by the state Education Department in addition to the ongoing police probe, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron (pic). "The headmistress in question will be queried by Education Department officers. On Tuesday, The Star reported that the mother of an eight-year-old girl had lodged a police report at the Alor Gajah police station against the headmistress for alleged injuries found on the child's back. The case is being probed under Section 324 of the Penal Code Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means. The child's mother is a housewife while her husband works as an odd-job labourer.
