There is no member of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) in Bangladesh, police have said. “Around 430,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh till Friday escaping the violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. ARSA, previous named Harakah al-Yaqin, operates in Rakhine state in northern Myanmar and is identified as a terrorist organisation by the country’s government. ASRA members attacked 30 police posts and an army base, and killed 12 security personnel on August 24 and 25 in Rakhine state. The ARSA attack prompted a counter-insurgency crackdown by the Myanmar security forces that forced more than 422,000 Rohingya Muslims to flee to Bangladesh to escape fresh spell of violence.
