Murang’a County Police Commander David Mathiu announced on Wednesday, April 19, that they have cancelled the Azimio meeting scheduled for Thursday. Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria had submitted a notice for the meeting to the law enforcement officers on Tuesday, April 18. Speaking to the press after presenting the notice, Wa Iria revealed that Azimio leadership including Raila Odinga were to attend the meeting. Azimio raised concerns over bi-partisan talks due to a lack of goodwill from the Kenya Kwanza side, which they accused of dishonesty. Minority leader in the National Assembly welcomed the bipartisan talks, noting that Odinga's side was ready.
