ASI Nannu Mia, 42, was shot when he challenged a group of men in Sherpur’s Bhabanipur around Monday midnight, Sherpur police OC Humayun Kabir said. The men were putting up posters in protest of a surrender ceremony of 595 members of outlawed leftist groups. OC Humayun said ASI Nannu Mia and two constables were patrolling in Bhabanipur area when they found the men postering the walls. Long live Marxism-Leninism.”On Tuesday afternoon, 600 members of various outlawed leftist groups surrendered to authorities, giving up their weapons, in an event in Pabna attended by the home minister.
