And agency after agency has warned that climate change could make polar bears extinct by 2050. But a group of scientists has posited another potential impact of global warming on polar bears, and it’s not nearly so adorable. “But a bear’s still got to eat,” said Geoff York, with Polar Bears International, who is one of the study’s authors and has survived three encounters with aggressive polar bears.
