Either way, Sun and Moon is definitely doing well in Japan and shows that Pokémon is still clearly one of the major handheld game series around. Compared to something like Monster Hunter, another multi-million seller in Japan, Pokémon often shifts two to three times more than most of its competition here. It’s also one of the few Japanese games series that has similar sales across most regions, which is rare these days.
