image: NianticWe're a little ways out from the launch of Pokémon GO's Gen 2 now, and it seems like a decent place to evaluate it. The game continues, but the event that was the Gen 2 launch is on the table for analysis. At best, it was a guarded success -- but it may have been a huge failure. So, Pokémon GO is a massive success because it made a billion dollars, and a massive failure because it didn't make two. Pokémon GO had another great chance to get people interested with the release of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, of course, but chose to ignore that one entirely.
