Credit: NianticBut I do have to wonder if this might be sort of a trial balloon for larger, more numerous live events in the future. Fans have been wondering what form Legendary Events would take in the future, always referencing that initial trailer of the mass get-together to capture Mewtwo in Times Square. Niantic has said they want to do more live events, and many interpreted that as Legendary Events, or at least live events with an in-game component. In my estimation, Legendary Events simply can’t have a live component organized by Niantic.
