An investigation by Edmonton police has revealed that poisonous red powder scattered around Buena Vista dog park that reportedly made a dog ill, was a mixture used to create markers in the snow for a running group. "The group is very apologetic and went out to the park today to ensure all the powder was removed from the ground," Mokrzan wrote. "The group agreed to contact Park Rangers in advance of any future runs and ensure that only safe marking materials are used." No charges were laid against the running group. During an earlier search of the area, officers found 36 spots along the trail with red powder on the ground.
